About The Perfect Man

Music and lyrics by Adi Sara Kreindler
Book by Adi Sara Kreindler & Reena Kreindler

The Perfect Man has never been seen.

However, several of its 20 songs have been heard by enthusiastic audiences at Winnipeg cabarets, including Theatre by the River's Wine & Words, FemFest's opening cabaret, and White Rabbit's musical theatre cabaret series.  "The One Night Stand" (formerly titled "Endless Love") was a regional finalist in CBC's "Stand and Deliver" comedy competition.  A few songs made their first appearance in Adi Sara's earlier musical, Charity, which premièred at the Old Fire Station Theatre in Oxford, England ("had the audience in fits of laughter. . . you'll be humming all the way home!" - Daily Information).  She has also written and staged the musical Flute Song (Vincent Massey Collegiate) and the cult play-with-songs Out of My Head (Winnipeg Fringe Festival; "songs...you'll want to listen to over and over" - Jewish Post). She conceived The Perfect Man while watching The Bachelor compulsively for research purposes.

Adi Sara and Reena were core members of the political satire troupe Just Theatre, which played to sold-out houses at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival ("screamingly funny" - Winnipeg Free Press), performed on national radio and local television, and garnered thousands of hits on YouTube.  The mother-daughter team wrote the book with expert dramaturgy from award-winning playwright Scott Douglas.  An early version received a public reading as part of the Manitoba Association of Playwrights' "Open Door" series.

Excerpts of The Perfect Man were to have been showcased at the University of Manitoba Musical Theatre Program's annual cabaret in March, 2020. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. Planning continues for a workshop production.
